Featuring a high-resolution 20.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and 12x optical zoom capability range, the IXUS 285 HS allows users to shoot videos in Full HD and zoom into details of dynamic architectural and scenic landscapes. The IXUS 285 HS’s intelligent Image Stabilization (IS) technology detects motion and automatically applies the best IS settings to reduce camera shake. Story Highlight uses Canon's original algorithm to create an album (movie) with a storyline from all shot still images. It allows users to seamlessly create a movie of about 2 - 3 minutes from still images and movie snippets shot in Hybrid Auto mode with the option of selecting and adding music tracks from the built-in background music library. Auto zoom detects and analyzes the scene, automatically adjusting zoom settings based on the number of faces in the scene. This ensures that proper framing is achieved in photos even if the camera is in unfamiliar hands.
