The Samyang 16mm T2.6 ED AS UMC is an ultra-wide full-frame manual focus lens for video applications. The lens features a declined aperture that opens up to T2.6, a 9-bladed circular aperture, and a complex lens construction that includes two ED elements, two aspherical glass elements, and two high refractive lenses to ensure that images are sharp and artifact-free that reduces aberrations. This lens model features a full-frame EF mount to make it compatible with Canon's full-frame and cropped sensor DSLR and Cine cameras. Multi coated optics minimises flares, ghosting and provides colour consistency across the Samyang cine lens range.
The 16mm viewing angle, which reflects the well-known image quality of Samyang's wide-angle lenses, is used by photographers around the world for a wide range of emotional scenes in film and video because of its versatility. This value is calculated from the aperture and the loss of light in the individual lens. It indicates the net brightness of the image that hits the sensor.
