The Canon EF-mount ZEISS Otus 28mm f/1.4 ZE is an optically refined prime poised to deliver a high degree of resolution and clarity in nearly any shooting condition. Featuring an apochromatic design, and utilizing the Distagon concept to reduce distortion, this lens uses a series of eight anomalous partial dispersion glass elements and two aspherical elements to virtually eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the aperture range. Equaling the optical prowess of a Strigidae-inspired lens, the Otus 28mm f/1.4 is also characterized by a robust physical design for intuitive, exacting handling. Accentuating the range of control, this manual focus lens is complemented by haptic design elements, including a rubberized focus ring and an all-metal lens barrel with high-visibility yellow scale markings. Impressively bright f/1.4 maximum aperture is well-suited for working in low-light conditions and also provides greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques. Apochromatic optical design utilizes eight anomalous partial dispersion elements to significantly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for increased clarity and color fidelity. ZEISS T* anti-reflective coating has been applied to each lens surface to help minimize reflections and provide greater contrast and color fidelity.

The physics seem to be broken by this lens!

I've owned numerous cameras and lenses over the course of many years, and I currently use Leica and Phase One, but this lens on my Sony A7Riv delivers amazing sharpness and resolution as well as Panos that rival my medium format. superior to any lens in the world in terms of construction quality.

Good Lens

This lens is stunning. Additionally, I own a Milvus 25mm f/1.4 ZE. The Otus 28mm produces much more vibrant colour, similar to the Otus 50mm f/1.4, despite the fact that the Otus 25mm is lighter and probably slightly sharper on the edges.
